Dear Elisabeth:

Unless these 2 different ID field coexist in the same patron 
record, you might try searching for Unique ID "has" - (hypen). 
That way the list on which you perform the updates wouldn't have 
that other type of number.

If they do coexist, I have no clue.

I tried to send a reply yesterday but it got stuck someplace.
