We experimented with Millennium on Linux late last year and IIRC we
were told that there are no plans for further development of III
software for Linux clients.

I believe she was asking about the server, not the clients.
Except for any private communication Innovative might have had with
their Linux customers about possible support for more advanced versions
or different distributions, all we have to go on is what Innovative has
published on CSDirect. That documenation still states that Red Hat EL
2.1 is the only version currently supported. That said, 2.1 is still
fairly robust & stable. Hopefully Innovative will be able to expand this
support to include both Red Hat EL 4 and SuSE Linux Enterprise Server.
As far as the Millennium Client, it's still fairly simple to set up a
*nix box to run Millennium, even without a client installation program
from Innovative. Innovative never did get the concept of sharing the
executable, but storing the downloaded files in a subdirectory under
each user's home directory. Even on Windows it's possible and preferable
to run Millennium that way...
HTH,
David
