Hi Andrea,
We have just moved from our old Oki system printer to using an HP
Laserjet 4250, which is a current model, for printing notices. It is
configured as a network printer (we are running Silver), not a system
printer, which gives us much greater flexibility. Apart from still
struggling to get our page format correct, it is working beautifully.

Subject: System Printer Recommendations...
After 8 years I am afraid we have to give up our Okidata 393 workhorse
system
printer as we move to Millennium.
My III sales rep said they recommend the HP Laserjet 4200N as a system
printer, but I wanted to get some feedback, especially since she also
said
this model is older.
We currently use our Oki for printing labels and circ notices (something
we
could never get our network printer to do properly) as well as any large
lists
that we run periodically.
Can anyone recommend a printer for us to buy to replace our Oki that
will do
these things reliably and correctly? As you can probably tell, I'm a bit
sad
about retiring the Oki, it has never given us a problem for 8 years of
steady
work!
I've looked through the archives on this, but there has not been much
recently
on system printers, and the printer FAQ doesn't address this.
Many thanks,
Andrea R. Lee
