Thanks to everyone for letting me know that this works and how. As usual, great responses from a great group of people.

Hi Paul and Penny...

This was pretty easy to do actually. There was no WebOPAC design work
involved at all. You simply have to modify your wwwoptions file so that
these lines appear:

STAFF=34
STAFF_LOGGEDIN_MSG=You are STAFF logged into The %s as %s

The STAFF=34 means that ptype 34 will get the staff view. You also have to
ensure that all library staff are in the same ptype. For us, that meant
changing the way we loaded records because previously library faculty and
staff were in the same ptype as ALL faculty and staff.

I'm attaching 2 screenshots. One (reg_view.jpg) is what patrons would
generally see. The other (mymil_staff_example.jpg) is the staff view. In
the staff view, note that the item and order record links at the bottom of
the record are live links to those record when viewing this in real time.
Let me know if you have any problems with the attachment.

You should also visit pages 105887 and 105682 in the manual for full
details. Hope this helps.
