You should be able to set up your telnet so that it does not timeout.
Timeouts, usually during periods of inactivity, can be imposed by the Unix
you're logged in to, or by any router, firewll, etc. along the way. It is
common practice in telnet (and SSH) clients to avoid this by setting some
sort of keepalive timer. This causes the client to periodically send a
do-nothing packet to the server, thereby making the router (or whatever)
think it is active.
In the case of Anzio (our telnet client), this is set in
Communicate:Network:Stayalive.
