Thanks Lesha,
I've looked at Sheffield (took me ages to find their library pages!)
and it seems that the old way (i-type linked to l-type) still stands !
Thanks,
Mandy

We display the loan length (which corresponds to itype) in our OPAC but
in a
roundabout way. We were told back when we started that the itype
couldn't be
displayed in the OPAC (if this has since changed we'd be delighted to
know) and
instead had to get Innovative to set up the Opac Message field to be
displayed
in the OPAC to display this info. The name of this field has been
changed to
"loan type" and we manually have to change it to correspond with the
itype. So
the itype is used by the loan rule to actually circulate the item for
the
correct length of time, and the loan type is used purely for display
purposes on
the OPAC to in effect tell the patrons what itype it is. If we could
just
display the itpe on the OPAC it'd be so much easier!
