I have tested it with a record of 16 boxes. I add a 17th box and check
it in. There is a prompt that says: 'Last box has been checked in.
Change card status to FILLED?' . It works for me in Millennium Serials.

Corey:

That is exactly what I would like to see, that is, the prompt before
the whole 84 is filled up, namely, a number which you can define, say,
24 and when all 24 is filled up, you get the prompt. I got mixed
messages from the listserv. Some members say they could do it. I just
could not duplicate here. We do have some records which will prompt you
at around 60, when all boxes are filled up, but not more than 84. So at
this point, it is a puzzle. I guess I will contact III to find out. I
actually was dragged into this discussion by a question from one of our
former colleagues. I thought I had the answer, but when I tried to
duplicate, it did not turn out the way I expected. I was even confirmed
by my own staff that it used to prompt you at a fixed number. The
failure to prompt at a number lower than 84, might it be a 2005 LE
issue?

Don --

I am not sure that a limit lower than 84 can be put into the check-in
card. However, when you are creating the card, you can put in 24 boxes
so it will be default prompt you when it is filled up. Could it be that
this is a workflow question rather than a functionality question? I am
not sure myself anymore.

What I could see down the road is that if you fill in the last box and
there are fewer than 84 boxes, you get a prompt that says something
along the lines of "change status to filled OR add new boxes." That
could be a great enhancement suggestion. We are getting close to two
weeks from the current cycle deadline. The enhancements URL is
http://www.innovativeusers.org/enhancements. The deadline for this
cycle is March 4th, 2005.

Hope this helps --

Best -- Corey

I have a question regarding the serials check-in. It is this: when the
last box for a check-in record is used up, the system will prompt you
that the last box has been checked-in, do you want to change the status
to filled? My question is: can you define the number of boxes, say 24,
so when the 24 boxes are used up, the system will prompt you? Of course
you can add more boxes if you want, as I understand, because the size is
84 boxes per check-in. But what about if you want the prompt before you
hit 84 boxes? Does anybody know how to set it?
