I don't think your cataloger got the headings mixed up. If you use the
Guidelines on subject access to individual works of fiction, drama, etc
put out by ALA, then Horror Fiction is a valid 'genre' subject heading.
I had this same problem with III. They seem to be somewhat narrow minded
in some ways; a good example is the series tag; they don't allow for
using the 440 tag. Anyway, we have decided here to just ignore the
correction that they send out when we have used the 655 field and a
gsafd subject heading. Hope this helps.

He wants to know if Innovative gives the current heading according to
the latest LC subject heading list(24th ed.) He got the incorrect
hearing for horror stories. How can we go about keeping them current

Innovative does not do this?
