We have recently run into a problem that I'm stumped on. I've looked at the
archives, but nothing definitive has come up.

We have had a problem twice now with library staff looking up patrons who have
items (particularly reserves) and giving that informaiton to others. Now, this
is strictly against policy and in the 8 years we've had our system, it has not
been a problem before. We are dealing with the personnel issue, but I was
trying to see if there was a way to block the access to the information at the
system side.

The biggest flaw I am finding is when one tries to check out an item that is
already checked out, the system message states that the item is already
checked out to patron .p00000000, check it in yes or no? What then happens, is
the staff member can use that full patron number to see exactly who has the
item checked out.

I have been through the circ options, the manual, and the archives. Does
anyone know if there is a way to block this information that I cannot locate?
We are not yet on Millennium, if that matters.

Many thanks in advance,
