Well folks, looks like we've lost this battle. I'm just wondering if, by
the results page showing up in a "pop-up" window, how that's going to affect
our current interactivity (I've included their comments below). I
appreciate the comments I have received so far concerning this issue. I've
requested that we have time to test this on our test web server before fully
implementing this project. I'll let you know what happens.

Subject: Report on analysis of library pages

To all concerned,
CentreSource has completed its analysis of the library's Web pages
and what will be involved in moving those pages onto the SiteMason platform.
Below are some questions that I asked about their analysis. The answers were
provided by CS's Dan Bruns, the technical advisor for this project.
From CentreSource's standpoint, this project can easily move ahead.
If there are any problems or issues that we need to address or any problems
that any of you can see, I need for you to voice those matters now.
Please get back to me. Thank you, Jan G.

There are no obstacles with this. As we had said previously all of the
Innovative/Millenium software will remain where it is currently. This
means the library will keep the same server they currently have. We will
have Jamen modify the pages that require Innovative 'tokens' so that
they will conform to the site. I think the best option for the results
pages and advanced search pages is to have them show up in a pop-up
window while the main library/trevecca site stays in the main browser
window. This will allow the majority of the library website content to
be on sitemason while only the required pieces stay on the Innovative
server.

These changes will definately retain all the functionality that it
currently has. The quote does not take into account any fundamental
changes to the design or additions to functionality.

> 3. Can the library maintain control of its pages?

Not only will the library maintain control of its pages, non-technical
people will be able to edit the site if they so choose.

> 4. Will the library retain its search feature (You will remember that
> these pages have their own seach capacity for library holdings.)?

As I stated above when addressing whether or not it will retain all
functionality, the search pages will stay on the Innovative site. This
will allow the search functionality to stay on the current library
server while the rest of the site and the look of the site is controlled
on sitemason.
