Perhaps JTAutoEntry, as I said earlier, might do. The program is a bit
"kludge" & not very well documented, if I remember correctly. Also, you
might get the impression that the only thing it does is launch SQL queries
against a Horizon database, but it is really more general purpose than that.
It can grab hold of any window and perform rote commands from a script you
supply that do not make use of the mouse. You may have to experiment with it
to make it work. Apart from the learning curve, it is free at
http://www.jtdata.com/
I'm sure there are others programs that will also fill the bill, but this is
the one that I have had experience with.
Good Luck,

Subject: RE: Creating a script in Millennium
I actual have all the key strokes (no mouse) to run a millennium create
a list, what I am now looking for now is software to run it in. I have
used Expect in Unix to run a script for the text base, but am unsure
what will work in window environment.

I hope I do not misunderstand what you are saying. I am not a regular
user
of create lists in the charcter based system, but the functionality in
the
old system seems comparable to that found in the new system. The icon
to
click into has a circle with an arrow going through it. Find an empty
set.
Click on "search records". Run your search. When done, "list records"
is
intended to send stuff to the printer, but I think you can divert it to
a
text file. More typically, you can use the "export files" button and
save
your information to disk in a machine friendly way that can be dumped
into
things like spreadsheets. These get saved to your disk.
>From the general way you phrased your question it seemed unclear
about
whether you might have wanted to have the script lurking in the
background
and launching itself, but I did not think I saw anything like that on
the
character based system, so I discounted the possibility. If this is
what you
are interested in however, ther is a free program called JTAutoEntry
available over the web that may do the job. Your task has to be broken
into
discete keystrokes, however, which you may or may not be able to do
with
Millennium's graphical interface. Also, the program works, you have
to
conservatively estimate the time it takes to accomplish an operation,
because the program is not looking. Still, once you get it to do what
you
want, it's nice. Available from
http://www.jtdata.com/ for free.
Still, the question sounds too easy. I assume my answer may not be what
you
are looking for, but in case it is, here it is. If I am wrong, more
details
might be helpful.
Good Luck

I am trying to create a script to create a list in Millennium that
will
dump the file on a specific workstation that the script is running on.
What software is being used to do this or does it have to be done in
the
text base only?
Thanks for you help.
