Re: Millennium Silver Acquisitions - question re grouping vendors

Mary -- I am on 2005LE. I just noticed a variant of that problem. I am
not able to get the system to display (while selecting vendor records)
more than one. This shows up on the known issues for resolution with
Release 2005.
I am not sure that many people are using this feature because there is
relatively little that you can do with grouped vendors that I know of.
(I might be wrong). Here is where the enhancements process is very
important because it reflect the way that we use the software and would
LIKE to use the software.
I am a huge fan of the new graphical interfaces with Millennium and
never turn back when the new features show up in Mill. However, I do
have a morality talk about the parameters that just happened over the
weekend.
I was copying two lines of my loan determiner table to add another ITYPE
that I missed. This is for four different ITYPES for equipment and I
missed one when entering them earlier this year. I opened the loan rule
determiner and the first line is highlighted. The first line in the
loan rule determiner should always be all wild cards (for location,
ITYPE and PTYPE) that goes to a non-circulating loan rule. When I
wanted to add the two additional loan rules, I just wanted to copy two
for a different ITYPE (in retrospect, I should have just added the
ITYPEs to the existing lines...but I digress). Anyway, I scrolled down,
held control and clicked the two lines that I wanted to copy. I copied
them and moved them in the table where I wanted them. In a rush to
leave for the day (never a good idea when playing with circ parameters),
I moved the two entries to where I wanted them in the table and left the
wild card entries at the very bottom of the table! The classic rookie
mistake! Milcirc does not look at the tables again until it is
rebooted, so it was not until Saturday morning, after EVERYTHING was
flagged as non-circulating that I was called. I guess the lessons
learned is that I will be more careful when editing files in Millennium.
Don't forget that the best part about being a systems librarian is
that you get to fix your own mistakes and look like a hero in the process!
Long and short of it is that now I know when copying lines in Mil
tables, make sure I click on the first one I want to clear line number
one!
Hope this helps --
Best -- Corey

According to Mill Acq documentation at record #105787, we should be able
to add more than one vendor at a time to a group by holding down the
CTRL key while selecting them. This does allow me to select multiple
vendors, but when I click the OK button, only the first record in the
group transfers. Has anyone else had luck with this process?
Thanks,
