Our department is using the ICode 1 field  to identify the  person doing 
the creating or modifying.  Each cataloger has been assigned a number.  
This is used in every 949 you create.  If you modify the item record, 
then you change the ICode 1 accordingly.  This has proven to be quite 
helpful when there is an error, we know who should fix it.   It's also 
helpful if you want to make a list of all the materials you've 
cataloged.  (This is really useful in statistics.)
