Hello:

Please respond to the list because we are "seriously" considering the
purchase of this product to eliminate the need for multiple logons and
passwords for students and faculty.

I look forward to any feedback.

Subject: III' s LDAP server product

We are considering the purchase of III's External Patron Verification
product to interact with our LDAP server. From the manual it does
not
look as though the setup is complicated, nor does it give the
impression
that the setup is ongoing. It appears to be a one time setup in the
web
pages, in the OPAC system options and in the LDAP parameters.

We currently have WAM. It is my impression that the addition of the
LDAP server product would not alter our current procedure related to
the
maintenance of the WAM table. It is my impression that although
these
two products interact, they serve different functions and need to be
maintained separately.

Can anyone who is using this product, please respond (off list is
fine)
regarding the ease of setup and maintenance?
