using Pin numbers to to access Self Checks

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
My library is thinking about requiring patrons to enter Pin numbers in order
to use self check machines. This is for security reasons.

Do you use the Pin number function in conjunction with your Self Check
Machines?

1. If yes,

a. Why did you decide to have patrons use pin numbers?

i. Was the decision customer driven?

ii. Was it staff driven?

b. Do you find it provides a barrier to legitimate use?

i. Customers forgetting their pin number and thus having to come to the
desk?

ii. Customers not wanting to bother with a pin number and coming to the
desk?

iii. Have you found that your express check numbers have gone down or
up since using pin numbers?

iv. An adverse effect on your other library systems - customers having
to us a pin to log in to My Millennium

2. If no,

a. Why not?

Thank you for your time.
