Anyone using the portable Percon for weeding?

Is anyone  successfully using the portable Percon or other handheld device
to scan barcodes on the shelf and then creating a list and getting item
circulation information for those items for weeding purposes? Please reply
to me off list.   I need details on how the list is created and transferred
[FTP] etc. Also, I would be interested in hearing about other ways of
efficiently doing this. THX.
