Thanks to all of you who responded to my message re the bar code
scanner. The mystery has been resolved: the PowerWedge (Percon) is too
old.  My next request is for recommendations on the purchase of a new
scanner.  Of course cost is a major factor (I operate on a shoe string
budget).  Any suggestions would be appreciated.
