I may be misunderstanding, but this is a feature you don't want for a
public OPAC.
For patrons at home they can set IE for autofill and drop their cookies
down to low or medium/low.
What we have tried to do as we wean patrons away from DRA is to get them
into a work flow where they log in to My Account first and from there do
their searches and place their holds.

Subject: WebOPAC--Logging In--Remembering the Barcode
Hi!
I've checked the IUG archives, but didn't find this particular topic.
I'm hoping someone might have come across this issue.
We migrated to III late this past summer (from DRA Classic). One
feature that customers have frequently requested for the III WebOPAC is
the ability for the "My Library Login" and "Request Verification" pages
to "remember" the customer's barcode, so they don't have to type in the
whole library account number the first time they login.
I've been told that customers can set this functionality in the browser
itself. However, I'm wondering if there is still something that needs
to be changed in the WebOPAC because (as an example) on our staff PCs
(at on my home PC) other web sites allow this functionality
already--it's nothing that we've needed to change.
Has anyone made such an adjustment to the WebOPAC to allow this? If so,
how did you do this?
Any thoughts on this would be extremely helpful!!
Thank you!
