I have MS Word 2002 (XP), and I know this works with other Word
versions. Export your email addresses into a .csv file, and use it as a
data file for Mail merge. I'll refer you to the Word online Help for
elaboration on that.

Ahh...today's task.
My plan is to export the list, open the file in Excel, transfer only the
email address into a text file, open the text file in Word and search
for paragraph and replace with semi-colon. Copy the entire list and
paste it into the bcc: field of an Outlook email. Somewhere along the
way I'm going to create a dummy user so I don't get bounced emails in my
personal inbox. {Basically spammer 101} When we started using Collection
Agency a few months ago I did this to notify patrons who owed between
$30 and $50 that we were changing our collection policy. Honestly it
takes longer to try to write a procedure than to actually do it. Any
other suggestions would be appreciated.

Since we did the upgrade to Silver (Aug), the alerts sent matching
patron's Preferred Searches in My Millennium hasn't worked properly.
III has been investigating but no solution yet (has anyone else
experienced this problem?). We promoted this service quite a lot but
there's been no way for us to tell who was using it, thus no way to let
them know that it isn't working. Using your method (email has @) I was
able to create a list of eveyone who has an email address -- potential
Preferred Search users. Now that I have the list, what method do you
use to actually send them an email? Barb Black Iowa City Public Library

When we migrated in 2002 we dragged about 30,000 expired borrowers with
us. It is now time to do our first serious purge since migration. I can
figure out how to create a list of borrowers whose expiration date is
Easter of 2003, but for a number of reasons I'd like to send an email to
these folk inviting them to come back to the library and see all the
changes that have happened in the last few years. So, how do I search
for email address has something?
