Hi all,
We are a large consortium running Release 2002 - Phase 3 on an Alpha ES40
6/500 Model 2. Since we started uploading patron pictures to the Alpha in
the second half of this year, the length of time for our full backups and
verifies have over time nearly tripled. Starting Jan 1, all of our branches
are being required to upload photos when registering new patrons, so we are
a little concerned about how this will effect our backups long term.
Fortunately, we plan to go to Silver in late January which will definitely
help with the verifies.
At the moment, we are using a 12/24GB DAT backup drive installed in 2001.
We will most likely get a new one, but I am interested to know if anyone out
there has replaced their backup drive lately, if they had compatibility
issues with III software, and if performance improved over the long haul.
Any recommendations? Thanks!
