- Subject: FULL BIB RECORDS FOR AGGREGATE DATABASES
Sorry for cross posting, but I would like to know who all out there are
downloading/cataloging full bib records for their individual aggregate
database titles? We use the coverage loads that vendors are supplying
and use III as our local system, but we end up with fairly 'naked'
looking bib records for the individual titles - as a catalogor I am not
reall thrilled with these records.
So, are people downloading full records, if so who is doing the actual
work, how did you justify it (if you had to) - did any pros or cons come
about in the process - and for people who chose not to, what was your
reason for that?
BTW, we're are fairly small - only have 9-11 aggregate databases anyway,
but then are also understaffed in the catalog department.
Thanks for any and all input.
