Laura,
I didn't see any other responses to your message, so if you have had
lots, just ignore this one.
After we upgraded to Silver we found that the processing of web-placed
holds stopped completely on a couple of different occasions, and at
other times got very slow. I contacted the helpdesk, and they fixed it.
One of the problems is that it takes time to pick up this problem.
The processing of holds is carried out by one of the processes that runs
as a separate program. You can see if it is running under the Restart a
terminal option, running under iii, and called Read patron requests. I
don't know what would happen if you tried to restart it yourself - it
might quit completely. I'd call the helpdesk.
regards
Carolyn

Subject: MilCirc Holds:
It seems to me this was discussed recently, but I am unable to find the
thread in the list archives.
So here it goes, first thing in the morning.
Circulation is reporting that holds placed via the WebOpac are not
showing up immediately in MilCirc. It is taking 2 days and in at least
1 case 3 days before the hold appears in the hold file.
Is there a setting that is gone askew?
We have been up on MilSilver since late August. Circulation noticed
this last week and weekend. There is no apparent pattern, rhyme or
reason.
Thanks for any insight,
Laura Kinner
