Sue,
III's WAM method will not work when using either CrossRef or DOI services to resolve URLs. We ran into this problem with Webbridge. For folks using EZ-Proxy -- this isn't an issue. For those using the regular WAM, the proxy is dropped at the first point of redirection. After talking with III, I guess it was last January about this, I eventually just created a script to wrap all such requests which would do the navigation between CrossRef or DOI.org and then do the proxy creation in-line so that the only URL that my browser sees is the final, proxy re-written instance.

Subject: Proxy rewrite and ScienceDirect article level linking
Hello all (again)
Have any proxy rewrite users had the following problem with article
level linking to content in ScienceDirect?
The procedure on the ScienceDirect website for article linking at
http://www.info.sciencedirect.com/librarian_help/link_journal_pages/inde
x.shtml specifies using DOIs to link.
The base URL is
http://0-dx.doi.org.prospero.murdoch.edu.au/ and the DOI
number is added at the end.
However, if I create links using the above, eg:
http://0-dx.doi.org.prospero.murdoch.edu.au/10.1016/j.actpsy.2004.10.007
I'm dropped out of the proxy when I leave the DOI site and go to
ScienceDirect to access the content.
In the proxy table I have *.doi.org. I also added dx.doi.org but this
didn't make any difference.
The ScienceDirect Help Desk has been very helpful, but they haven't been
able to find a solution.
Has anyone else been able to get these article level links to work?
Thanks
Sue
