Re: Course Reserves and Self Renew/Holds

We had the same issue here, but felt that self-renewal was worth changing our reserves loan rule. At the reserve desk, students who want to renew something can have the book checked in and back out again.

Hi all, please excuse the cross posting.
Here at Wellesley College we would like to implement patron self renewals
and holds online. We are reluctant as it seems Innovative can only turn
it on or off as a whole, i.e. we cannot exclude certain locations.
We do not want patrons renewing or placing holds on course reserve items
online. The only way it seems to stop them is to put in the loan rule that
it is not renewable or holdable. Yet we need to have the loan rules allow
holds and renewals so staff may make these transactions.
How do other institutes deal with this problem? Are your reserves either
non-renewable and holdable or is there something we are missing all
together??
Any of your experiences would be appreciated,
