Our library has the same problem with Millennium Silver.
We use the Materials Booking System, and we run it through a Visual Basic
macro so that it prints the booking slips one by one in a readable
format. After Silver, we had a formatting mess, and no pickup
locations. We blamed this on the macro, and so I re-wrote it.
After fooling with it for a few days, the format looked better, but still
did not solve the problem. Sometimes booking slips have pick-up
locations, sometimes they don't. We aren't sure why. They are
always in the patron's record in Millennium.
We notified Innovative, and after a few weeks, software engineering said
that they would fix this in the next release. Our poor AV workers
are manually adding pick-up locations from Millennium to the booking
slips. Extremely disappointed, we wrote a letter expressing our concerns
to Innovative.
If anyone has managed to fix this problem, please let us know. This
is a very significant dilemma!

Our Media people HAD been using the

We moved to Silver last Friday and our Media people were extremely
disappointed at what
they saw. When they went to do a booking there were no locations. We
found out that
there is a table that needs to be setup. It links item location to pickup
location (both
being just library location codes). That we can do; however, there is
functionality MISSING
that used to be there:
Previously there was a choice of pickup or delivery and if delivery was
chosen it gave you
a free-text area to type in the location (this is necessary for delivery
purposes as we really
don't want to set up every classroom and conference room on campus a
library locations).
It also printed out both delivery and pickup slips.
If it is to be used for booking and delivery of equipment, these
functions are a necessity.
NONE of this functionality seems to be there anymore in Silver. If I am
wrong and they
are available somehow, I'd appreciate hearing from someone either using
the module or
at the company on how to access them.
Also what happened to the delivery location information that had been
entered into
pre-Silver bookings records? It is no longer visible, rendering those
records useless.
Without it, this module is useless to our Media staff. They have
currently abandoned it
for the paper based system they had been using rather than go through
extra work of writing
additional information on the slips that do print and duplicating them so
that there would be
both a delivery slip and a pickup slip. They are also investigating the
use of an other system
entirely for doing the media bookings.
