MAP versus OTHER GLOBAL SEARCH ENGINGES

We at the University of Pretoria's library are in the process of trying to purchase a Global Search Engine. (maybe MAP)

We will appreciate it if anyone can assists us and give us some advice and criteria  on:
The use of MAP, your experiece, usuability, user friendliness, etc.
The evaluation of MAP versus any other global search engines for your library?

Did you had trouble in deciding on MAP or another search engine?

Information on any other search engines that anyone knows of?
The name and usability?

Do anyone have any selection criteria that you can send me for evaluating MAP and other global search engines. Specifically in the library environment.
