Patience. On some of our clients things took "forever". I the worst case we
left it running just for fun after having given up. It took pretty much
literally all day, but eventually it was there blinking at us in a ready
state.

sounds silly, but it worked

The progress bar just sits, stuck forever.

I'm using milup131 because that's what the rest of our library's on -- I 
don't think our (remote) server has upgraded.
