We recently set up a new card for non-residents so they can use our computers for internet, word processing, etc. We do not wish to have these guests be able to check out materials at all or to use the internet after the expiration date. We created a new PType and set up a patron block for this ptype.

Oddly, we are still able to check out on the card, even though the card is past its expiration date.

We are using Cybrarian and can't seem to find a way to have it recognize the expiration date.

We have three questions then.

Why are we able to check out materials on a card that has expired?

Is anyone using Cybrarian and using the expiration date to keep people from using the card past todays date?

Is there a way to keep a card from checking out at all? This would just be used for using our computers (internet, word processing, etc.). Right now we set up a ptype and use patron blocks set to zero. This comes up with a message, that message can be over-ridden.
