Though I wouldn't ever claim to be that "guru out there who can say that

the proper phrasing to accomplish it," I know that Steve's criteria is
correct: MARC tag 505 = "".
We use it extensively to find brief records (i.e., MARC tag 001 = "") to
suppress from our INN-Reach system catalog.
