At Colgate, we use only the ACode1 field. "E" means we have edited an
existing authority. "L" means that we have created the record locally.
(We are not NACO participants, so if we need an authority that's not
available in the LC/OCLC files we make one just for our own catalog.)
Using the ACode field for edited or created authorities makes it easy to
identify "non-standard" records at a glance and is also useful for
making lists, sorting, statistics, etc.

Good luck with your migration! --ann

Subject: use of fixed fields in authority records

Hi,

We , VCOB (a Belgian customer of Millennium) , have following question,
raised during our profiling and migration cycle:

Within the authority record there are 2 fixed fields.Currently, VCOB
does
not use them. Is it possible to have some information how this fields
could be used?
For witch reasons they are used by other Millennium customers ?

All your answers are helpfull !

Thanks,
Marleen.
