Hi Candace --

We had a similar issue with ILL that was purchased and installed but not used. We were not able to get back the purchase cost because we had it installed. I'm still doing a slow burn over that one - we never really evaluated it until we were "trained" and then realized it did not perform as we had hoped. But, no deal on getting a refund. However, as you pointed out, we can save on the maintenance charge for having a not-used product removed.

The big words of caution that we were given - if you de-install it, and then decide later that you want to re-install, it will be another purchase. So, we felt we needed to think-through "Would we ever want to use it, especially if the product becomes functionally richer?"

Good luck with it,

Paul

Subject: deinstalling a product

Hi,

About five years ago we purchased the Electronic Ordering product from
Innovative. In all that time we have yet to use it and are now
considering de-installing it so as to save on the monthly maintenance.
Ordering has really evolved in that time and we find we do most of it
now via web forms. Somehow, though, de-installing leaves me feeling
hesitant. Anyone have any words of wisdom?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts,

Candace
