I thought I should share the correction to the problem I sent out
previously (actually re-sent Monday with a different subject line - our
email was down).

After I posted the problems, III got back to me about a problem with a
previous version of the opac files at CSDirect. I'm still puzzled since
the "newer" files have the same date as the ones I downloaded
(10/27/03), but the content was definitely changed. The body attribute:
onLoad="document.forms[0].elements[1].focus();" should be
onLoad="document.forms[0].elements[0].focus();" (a change of a [1] to
[0].

That fixed the problem. I also copied the java script from a new
srchhlep_X.html and that fixed the modify search problem.

Another solution suggested here did work, but I think this is a more
universal fix, whether you are using a token or a command for the
search.

Anyway, this should reassure everyone who plans to use the current
screens available. These work. But if you downloaded a while ago, you
should probably reload new ones.

Subject: WebOPAC problems: cursor position and modify search

I have been trying to fix 2 annoying problems which developed when we
switched to the new Millennium OPAC screens. We still use IE6 so that
hasn't changed.

1) On searches other than our opacmenu screen, the cursor is not
positioned on the page in the textbox and requires the user to manual
position or tab the cursor. On the various srchhelp screens, we have
the <body> attribute:

onLoad="document.forms[0].elements[1].focus();"

which I believe should control this. We also have the <form> attribute
name="search".

2) On a word search, there is the usual option to Modify Search, which
takes the user back to the Advanced Search screen. However, unlike our
old OPAC, the form is blank, i.e., the previous search to be modified is
not present in the form. We haven't changed anything from before that I
would think would affect this. Is there something I'm missing in
WWWoptions or the System Options> OPAC that might need changing? Other
ideas?

Any help would be appreciated.
