need label printer help

Our very old label printer (an ALPS Allegro 500) is not
compatible with the new XP machines which the city has finally
delivered to Technical Services.

Our environment: we are running Release 2002 phase 3. We telnet
into the system using Anzio Lite. There is no immediate prospect
that we will migrate to Millennium. 

We need to know what kind of label printer will work; preferably
one that does not cost several thousand dollars so that we can
afford to buy two.

If you are printing labels from the text system on XP PCs, and
can give up advice about what kind of printer will work with
III, please let me know.

For now we are having to leave one person working on a really
old PC so that she can print all our labels.
