Folks --

We are replacing some of our older Star TSP300 series receipt printers, and at this point are thinking that we would go with the Star TSP600 series, specifically the Star TSP 643 with the autocutter. Good price in the mid-$200 range.

Questions for you'all:

1) Has anyone used this specific 643 or 613 model? What has been your experience?

2) With either the Star product line or other manufacturers, would you recommend the auto-cut or manual tear?

3) The printer interface now comes with parallel, serial, usb or ethernet. Our City MIS guys recommend that we go with the USB, and it makes sense to me. But knowing how tricky the receipt printing can be with Millenium, I wonder about introducing another variable, as we've only used serial or parallel printers before with Millenium. Any thoughts about USB printers and Millenium?

Thanks for your advice.

Paul
