Do you have the Course Reserves module?

It makes this really easy. Catalog the books as normal. Then use the
course reserves module to add them to a course record for the month they
are added and temporarily change the location to the new book location.
You can then rapid update all the items with the new book location to
have a IMESSAGE fixed field like "New Books!" or you can place the new
book location outside of the normal 'locations served' of the
circulation desk. That way circ staff are prompted to shelve it in the
new book location.

When you want to pull the 7th month off, print out the list for that
course reserve record, pull the items and remove them from reserve
record, restoring the original location. If you used the IMESSAGE, you
can rapid update it out of the items not in the new book location. Any
items not found on the shelf can be removed from the reserve list
manually. When they get checked in, the circ staff will not be prompted
to place them at the new book location and they'll get shelved
normally.

HTH,
David
