RE: 780, 785 Field "Clickability" in Silver

A quick modification to my previous posting, in light of some additional
information I just received from our serials cataloger. She says it now
appears that the inability to click to previous and subsequent titles
only occurs when there is an ISSN (|x) in the 780 or 785 field; the
presence of an OCLC number or LCCN (|w) does NOT prevent clicking
through to the previous/subsequent titles.

Subject: 780, 785 Field "Clickability" in Silver

Our serials cataloger has asked me to forward a question to the list
involving the ability to click on 780 and 785 fields in Silver. Here's a
slightly edited version of the question:

The problem is with the MARC 780 and 785 fields, earlier and later
titles. If I put nothing but the title in this field (|t) then the field
is a clickable link. If however, I put other information, like ISSNs,
LCCNs, or OCLC numbers (|x and |w) then the links are not clickable. The
other information is very useful, and actually required when available
by cataloguing standards, but our periodicals department really likes
being able to click through periodical title changes. I don't remember
this being a problem before the Silver upgrade, but we can't be sure
that that is when it started.

I'd like to find out if anyone else is having this problem, and if it is
indeed a "new feature" with Silver.

Many thanks!
