Hi Adriene!

I can't offer any help with your questions, but was so happy to see your name and to read a message that I really enjoyed reading because sounds so much like you, that I just had to write back right away and say hi. So, "hi!" How are things going, esp. the migration to III? Even if the migration isn't going as smoothly as you'd hoped (they probably never do), I'm sure you'll be very glad about having done it once you're settled into the new system. We aren't using Millennium for cataloging or acquisitions yet, just the old character-based system. We just loaded Millennium Silver a couple of weeks ago. I need to organize a project to investigate it's cataloging and acquisitions modules so we can decide if we want to switch to it or wait for more improvements in later releases. From what I've heard, though, Silver is supposed to be the big step forward for both these modules, so hopefully we'll find it wonderful and just won't be able to switch to it fast enough. Or, whatever, you know?

I just came back from a 2-day, whirlwind trip to Denver. It was a site selection trip for future NASIG conferences, and it was a frantic day and a half. Four hotels there had submitted proposals to host our 2006 conference, so in a day and a half we were dragged through meetings and presentations and hotel tours and city tours and etc. etc. etc. It was all very interesting, but pretty tiring. I was sort of glad to be back at work this morning, but I'm so tired from that trip (not to mention my return flight be 4 1/2 hours late, so I didn't make it to bed until 2:00 this morning), that I've decided I'm going to take the afternoon off and go to the beach. So there! and even Ah-hah!! Can't let work feel as if it has the upper hand in your life, right?

Please say hi to Mary, Barbara, Jeff, Charles and Richard for me, and take care.

Steve

Hi, everyone. We are just starting out with our acquisitions migration
testing from Horizon to Millennium, and we're taking a look now at the
printing of POs from the new system. Most of the people we've checked with
at other Millennium libraries are using the legal-size PO forms from III,
but we are not really happy with the legal-size form. We've experimented a
bit with using a 8-1/2" x 11" format, yet don't wish to reinvent the wheel
if we don't have to. Are there any libraries out there using 8-1/2" x 11"
forms? Would you mind sharing the formatting specifications and/or the
forms that you use? If so, perhaps you could help me, off list? Thanks
very much!
