Hello:

We are looking at various options for server consolidation (sharing),
virtualization, and the possibilty of an Intel-based server to host our
Innopac. It currently runs on an IBM RISC6000/7044 with the AIX 4.3.3.

I look forward to see what others are planning. My main objective is to
investigate ways to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) associated with
standalone servers.

Subject: Change to Intel server

Dear all

We are intending to upgrade our Innopac server, and are considering
switching to an Intel-based server. We currently have a Sun server
running Linux, and use the proprietary Innovative database structure
(i.e. not Oracle).

We would be interested to hear from any sites using an Intel-based
server, with respect to reliability, configuration issues, etc.

Many thanks in advance
