- Subject: Global update query.
Dear Colleagues,
I am hoping that someone out there will be able to help. As part of our
database maintenance, we need to change the contents of a marc field to a
uniform entry.
I am hoping that I can input the new data using the global update function
in MILCAT. What I need to do is to find out how to overwrite a variety of
entries with just the one entry, but I don't seem to be able to figure it
out.
My other option is to delete the marc field and start over, however I cannot
figure out how to do that either, as again there are multiple possible
entries for the field that I want to make uniform.
I know that it's probably something really simple, but I've hit a block and
would really appreciate some help.
Many thanks in advance,
Yours,
