Hello to All:

The JCBL cataloguers attended the RLIN 21 Conversion workshop at Harvard Law School yesterday.
It was a success aside from some logistics that still need to be worked out.

The rare books cataloguers have a unique classification system so the 852 field for the shelf-list will suit us just fine.
The modern books here are catalogued with an 050 so this is all set.

Our outstanding questions related to the item record that must be generated.
Our call number and acquisition number are housed here.

Does the 852 require additional mapping in order to have it create an item record?
This is something we need to resolve with the main library in order to be able to export records properly.
We are the only RLIN library on campus in an OCLC universe

Any guidance that we can help our systems people with will be much appreciated by us and by them.

Many regards and thanks very much in advance for any tips from the list,

Allison Rich
