Reference Librarian. University of La Verne. (Position #2546)

The University of La Verne invites applications for a non-tenure track,
Reference Librarian for the Wilson Library.  This position reports to the
Chair, Research and Instruction Services.  The principal responsibilities
are participating in all phases of reference and instruction services;
providing reference assistance and research consultation services to library
users in a multi-disciplinary environment using multiple formats and making
referrals when appropriate; providing library instruction and assisting with
the development of instructional sessions; assisting the department chair in
developing the reference collection as requested; maintaining a program of
professional development through professional reading, conference
attendance, participation in professional organizations, and other
activities; cooperating as a team member with the library faculty and staff
in performing any professional or nonprofessional duty essential to the
achievement of effective library operations; work evenings and weekends as
required on a rotation basis with other library faculty; and must be able
and willing to travel to off-campus locations for instruction appointments
as requested (travel expenses paid).  This position requires a Master of
Library Science degree from an ALA accredited institution; second Master's
degree in education or business preferred; three years of related experience
preferred; familiarity with reference resources, including electronic
information systems; aptitude for and interest in service oriented work; and
the ability to teach, to organize, and to conduct instructional activities.
Hiring range is between $45,000-$65,000 and is dependent upon qualifications
