INSTRUCTION/CIRCULATION
LIBRARIAN.   The University of Tennessee at Martin invites
application for the position of Instruction/Circulation Librarian. 
We are looking for a person who is public service oriented, enthusiastic,
and creative to provide library instruction and serve as head of our
circulation department.  This is a twelve-month tenure-track
position with appointment at Assistant Professor rank.  The
university particularly encourages candidates with multicultural and
multiracial experience to apply.


Responsibilities:  Duties include primary responsibility for
the library?s bibliographic instruction program, which includes classroom
instruction and outreach to the faculty 

community, as well as extended public services to both on- and off-campus
students.  As Circulation Librarian, this individual supervises
three full-time support staff as well as 

student assistants.  All librarians at the university share in
weekend reference rotation and participate in collection
development.    Required:  ALA accredited MLS;
ability to 

fulfill standard academic promotion and tenure requirements; outstanding
written and verbal communication  skills and interpersonal
skills  in organization and management, enthusiasm and effectiveness
in  classroom teaching or library instruction; able to communicate
clearly and effectively with students;  ability to work both
independently and collaboratively; and experience in an automated library
environment.    Preferred:  Prior supervisory
experience, ability to create and maintain Web pages, and experience with
Innovative Interfaces Millennium.

The position offers a standard benefits package and expected beginning
salary of $33,500.  Hiring is conditional on awarded MLS degree from
an accredited institution.  Applications received by August  1,
