To change (modify) the information in specific boxes in Millennium, do the
following: Right click on the box you want to change, click on Box Menu in
the drop down box, click on Modify Boxes Individually in the drop down box.
You can make the necessary changes needed at that time. Save the changes
when finished making them. Please, note that you can modify a group of
boxes by using the same procedures, with the exception of choosing the
selection of Modify a Group of Boxes in the Box Menu drop down box. I hope
that this answers your question.

Hi,
I'm looking for Innovative catalogs that have a public genre index. If your
catalog has one could you please let me know. I'm especially interested in
ones that put the $v from the 600-651 in the genre index as well as the 655
& 755.

We are pulling the $v plus 655. It is still a work in progress but you are

I just looked at my (early) post regarding port 2082, which we used for
our Staging WebOPAC. I meant to say that I believe port 2080 has become a
standard for Staging WebOPAC's.
I'm intrigued that I haven't found an entry for port 2082 in our Limit
Network Access table. What is the purpose of having this port included in
the Limit Network Access table, and under which sub-menu should the
reference to the port appear? Here are the options from our Menu:

02 > LOGIN : Remote Login

Hi Ryan,
we have a public genre index here at CSU San Marcos. We also put many of
the $v from the 600-651 into the genre index as well.

We put the 655 and the $v in ours. The address is
http://library.accd.edu/screens/other.html and is actually on a secondary
page. One of my pet peeves is that the full capability of searching the
catalog is rarely used. We put entirely too much emphasis on keyword.

Dear Innopac Folk,
My serials checkin technician asks if the checkin boxes' status field
choices can be changed [Modfy boxes individually].
I do not know where this field is in our system codes. Is it hard coded or
something we have control over?
Thanks for any help.

Yesterday I tried to send the following message to the load table
listserv, but, although I receive mail from this group, apparently I'm
not authorized to send messages to it. So I'm hoping there is some
crossover to the Innopac list of load table users who can help me with
this question. I'd be grateful for any help! Many thanks,
Steve
<Original message>
We ran into problems recently with some OCLC / MARS authority processing
because we (well, OK, make that "I") forgot that Vietnamese records need
to be run through a separate load process because of their
double-diacritics. As a result, when I loaded the updated records from
OCLC, the diacritcs got blown away or messed up. I'm now looking at ways
to correct this by copying the still pristine records from our test
server's database and overlaying the messed-up records in our production
server.
During discussions with Innovative I got the impression that I should be
able to extract Vietnamese records from Innovative and load them to
Innovative without special processing (besides the Vietnamese load
table, that is), and that special processing will only be needed with
outside vendors. To test this, I extracted a Vietnamese record from the
test server and loaded it back into the test server using the Vietnamese
load table. I loaded it as a new record, to make sure the original, good
record would be preserved, and this proved a wise precaution, for the
diacritics were messed up by this process. Do I need to extract the
Vietnamese records through a special process? Do I need to pre-process
them through a special process?
Can anybody offer any words of advice for me in this process?
Many thanks!

I want to thank everyone on this list for all the help you have given me
over the years. Tomorrow is my last day at USD. I am retiring and moving
to Florida.
I want to thank the Southern California Users Group Steering Committee for
the corsage I wore at my retirement party. It looked beautiful on my blue
suit. Julie Su got digital pictures so you can see it.
I am so happy to be retiring. I think Wes and I being called to Florida
for a reason. I figure if nothing else I can meet people at the airport
and direct them to the cruise ships.
Cheryl expect a call in about two weeks. I want you to show me your
Florida.
