We are going to start using our Z39.50 client to bring in some
bibliographic records from the Library of Congress (we had been getting
all of them from OCLC prior to this) and before we do, I just wanted to
ask the list if there is anything that we should be cautious of or any
special steps we should take with these records. We will check the quality
of the records and have set up a special Bcode 3 for them so that we can
pull them all together easily if need be, but is there anything else we
should do as we bring them in? Does anyone else doing this insert a
control number in the record (other than the 010 #)? Any advice will be
much appreciated.
