Subject: Portable barcode reader (Oleg Kreymer)

I also have a portable barcode reader on order. I received a message last
month, from the tech that will do the configuration before shipping, so I know
that things are in the works, seems that they are being held up the the
equipment vendor...
It's certainly taking longer than the 4 weeks from time of purchase.

I will also be looking into purchasing PDAs as additional units to be used
by my Circ and Cataloging staff for inventory. I'd be interested in
any advice or suggestions as to reliable products and/or vendors.

Later, I'll probably be seeking some advice on setup.

Happy inventory!!! ;-)

*~* We have ordered a portable barcode reader for Innovative over 3 months ago
*~* and still have not received it. I am beginning to grow suspicious: are we
*~* the first library to order it in a long time (or ever!)?
*~* Did you have a similar experience getting this product?
*~* If no one else is requesting portable barcode readers, is my library going
*~* in the wrong direction? What is the general sentiment about wireless PDAs
*~* and their potential and their implementation time-frame?
*~* Thank you.
