Acquisitions process online

Dear creative ones,
For those of you who have moved your materials request and order process
mostly online, could you share your process?  The III recommendation
form just does not solve all our needs yet, but I really want to move us
off of paper.  I have recently dug through some of the Innopac archives
and have found pieces to my question, but not a complete picture.  For
example, some have selectors inputting information onto an excel form
which is emailed to acquisitions.
 
Any other ideas?
