Location code wisdom

Hi III old-timers,
 
Do you still remember those "migration" headaches?
 
One of our biggest struggles in migrating from DRA Classic to Innovative
Interfaces has been figuring out how to set up location codes.  We are
confused because the III documentation on the subject suggests building
in material codes to the 5 digit location codes.  I believe this is to
help in statistics.  Do you have any words of advice on this subject?
Any advice as to how the location codes might affect loan rules?
 
Or if you are pleased with your location codes, would you mind sharing
with us your structure for them?  A couple of III angels already have
and their models have really helped!
