We use the word "may" instead of "will", since we only send people to
collections if the owe over $75. We rarely get complaints, and when we
do we emphasize the "may" wording - that collections may not apply to
them, especially if they bring the materials back.

If your library uses a collection agency, do you include wording to that

affect on your bills and statements of charges? If so, would you be
willing to share your wording with the list?

Ours currently states that if the bill is not paid within 30 days that
the patron will be turned over to the collection agency.
