Cheryl, the reason we include the expiration date field in our patron
records even though our cards don't really ever expire is to track some
kind of last use date because the III does not track a last checkout
date like we had with a previous system. Whew, that's a long sentence; I
hope it makes sense. We are using an older release of Innopac; I may
have heard this will be a feature in the future. It would be a very
helpful date so I hope someone will correct me if I am wrong and it is
now available.

Subject: Customer's last checkout activity?

Hello, All,

(I found the thread about what to do with card catalogs so very
interesting, and touching.
We kept ours, but we are not all that big. We have hung banners on it
to
remind customers to go to the terminals, woops, PCs, to look at our
OPAC.)

ANYway, our ILL librarian wants to know if there is any way to determine
the last time a customer checked out an item.

I thought I knew a lot about the data structure, but I don't see
anything
to help him.
Am I missing something? Any ideas?

Thanks,

cheryl
