Folks --
We have had several conversations in our library about this issue, and as a newer site, are still struggling with the trade-offs.
For home remote users, I can see the desire for what Blake is describing, with allowing the local computer to autofill the barcode and also allow the name field to autofill.
However, we have been having an opposite challenge on our in-library OPACs. Patrons will use the web OPAC to access their account and place a hold, and then walk away without using the "LOGOUT" function. We've actually had the next patron place a hold for a book they want but the hold gets posted to the previous patron account. Any suggestions as to how to deal with this problem? Have we missed a setting someplace where an account can at least timeout (although this does not quite solve the problem).
Any advice on balancing the "ease of use" vs. "security" issues surrounding OPACs, patron placed holds, and My Millenium, are appreciated.
Paul

Hello all.
Since Innovative said they have no plans to address this, I thought I'd ask
the ingenious members of this list if they have a workaround! ;-)
One complaint we are hearing repeatedly from our users is that when logging
into My Millennium, they have to type their first and last name, card number
and PIN. On our old system (DRA Web2), the patron login function would allow
form fields to autofill and also allow the patrons to save their passwords
locally.
I suppose the reason why IE won't autofill the barcode line is because it
gets hashed out. Is it possible to unmask that field?
